The sunset proposal

Charlise has hijacked my Blog

After a wonderful day exploring the Island, having a light lunch of lobster and chilled chardonnay, Geoff and I decided we'd have dinner on our private balcony but before we did that we wanted to sit on the beach to listen to our favourite music by "Blue October" and to watch the Sunset over the ocean.

Geoff being the avid photographer he is, he was very "busy" setting up shells and corral for his photo shoot as well as taking beautiful photos of the sun slowly setting with the sun reflecting over the ocean.

One of the waitrons arrived with a bottle of wine and Geoff's favourite "doshM" local beer.

Completely unbeknownest to me, he had a trick up his sleeve..... once he'd taken the photos, he came and sat on the blanket with me and one of our favourite songs "Calling you" - Blue October was lulling in the back ground.
As I turned around to play another song he asked me to leave it playing, I did as he asked and when I turned around to face him he, to my absolute surprise and bewilderment had a ring in his hand and asked me to be his wife....

WOW the most wonderful day, moment and unsuspecting proposal ever. I was so overwhelmed I started crying and wrote YES in the sand. It goes without saying that dreams and fairytales do come true...

Our future life together began on the most beautiful location anyone could ever imagine and so our travelling journey began with many more memorable moments to be experienced and shared -

Loving you is Love made Visible.

Medjumbe Island 2012

What an amazing holiday we had at Medjumbe Island - a luxury holiday in paradise. Medjumbe Private Island lies at the northernmost reach of the 250km long Quirimbas Archipelago – a spectacular 45–minute flight from mainland Pemba in northern Mozambique.

If you want to escape and have a relaxing, romantic, luxurious island holiday, then this is the place to go. The island is only one km long and 500 metres wide. A perfect vista of endless white sand and translucent sea mesmerizes all who visit.

Charlise and I had an amazing time, with a very special event that took place whilst the sun was setting - read our blog on this special moment!

The adventure is also getting to the island - not for those scared of flying in a small airplane - but wow what stunning views of the islands, coral reefs, etc. Must say that the charter pilots - the young guns - are really brilliant in flying those little planes.

Our suggestion is that one should stay there for at least 5 days - to really relax, unwind, and be able to have some time to partake in some of the activities one can do at the island.

Great food, great accommodation, brill staff, and a setting like robison crusoe - only 13 chalets with own splash pool - so privacy is part of the beauty, or one can go to the resort pool to meet other folks.

Put this island on your bucket list! Now we want to explore some of the other islands!! (that is anothr story to be continued!)
